Squeeze

Pairs like 'do not' and 'they are' fall from the top. Type the matching contraction, apostrophe and all, and press Enter to squeeze the lowest matching pair out of existence before the stack climbs too high.

• Read the falling word-pairs
• Type the correct contraction with its apostrophe
• Press Enter to crush the lowest matching pair
• Clear pairs faster than they fall to keep going

• Desktop: type the contraction on your keyboard and press Enter (keyboard recommended)
• Phone & tablet: tap the input to bring up the on-screen keyboard and type your answer

• Daily: a shared seeded run ranked globally
• Practice: an endless fresh run to drill contractions

• The apostrophe replaces the dropped letters, 'do not' loses the 'o' to become don't
• Clear the lowest pair first; it's the one closest to ending your run
• Watch the irregulars, 'will not' contracts to won't, not 'willn't'

Squeeze turns contraction practice into a race against a falling stack, building fluency with how words combine and where the apostrophe goes.

• Skills: contractions, apostrophes, spelling, word combining
• Best for: roughly grades 2–5 (ages 7–11)
• For parents & teachers: quick, focused contraction practice.

Turning "do not" into "don't" is the contraction, and the apostrophe marks exactly what was removed.

Requiring the apostrophe, typed, is the original strictness.

That is where contractions are actually got wrong, and the reason is that the apostrophe has two unrelated jobs in English — omission and possession — which is why its and it's are confusable in a way no other pair quite is.
