One input, two mirrored runners. Your keys drive the cyan runner and its
violet mirror at the same time: press left and the cyan one goes left while
the violet one goes right (up/down and digging are mirrored too). Holes are
shared on the one grid — dig with care, since a hole one runner makes is real
for the other. Move & climb with Arrows / WASD (no jump — you fall
with gravity). Dig down-left with Z/Q, down-right with
X/E (brick only; it refills and crushes anything inside). Solve each
level as a synchronized puzzle: trap the guards, grab all the gold, then get
both runners to the escape ladders at the top. P pause,
R restart.

Grab all the gold and slip away, dropping trap-holes to bury the guards on your tail.
How to play
Each level is a maze of bricks, ladders, and rails packed with gold and patrolling guards. Collect every gold piece to open the way out, then escape. Your trick is digging: blast a hole in the brick floor to drop a guard in. The hole refills after a moment, so a trapped guard who isn't buried climbs back out.
- Run, climb ladders, and hand-over-hand along rails to reach the gold.
- Dig a hole to the left or right to trap a pursuing guard.
- Collect all the gold to reveal the exit, then make your escape.
Controls
- Desktop: Arrow keys or WASD to move and climb; Z or Q digs left, X or E digs right. Keyboard recommended.
- Phone & tablet: keyboard play recommended for precise digging and climbing.
Tips & strategy
- Dig a hole just ahead of a chasing guard so it falls in as it follows you.
- Remember holes refill — keep moving so a buried guard can't climb out behind you.
- Grab dangerous, guard-heavy gold first while you still have escape routes open.
Origins
Gold Dig revives the puzzle-platformer of 1983 — gather every piece of gold and escape a brick-and-ladder maze, digging holes to trap the guards on your tail. Its level editor and devious puzzles made it a long-running favorite on home computers.
