Cards circle a central hub on concentric rings that spin at different speeds, advance the orbit, grab whatever lands in the lane, and lay down sets and runs before your turns run out.
Set-Collector's Orbit is an original orbital card-collection puzzle. Cards sit on concentric rings that each rotate a fixed number of slots per tick, with a single grab lane fixed at the top. You advance the orbit, grab the cards currently in the lane into your hand, then lay down scoring combinations. The challenge is scheduling ticks so the exact cards you need arrive in the lane together before you spend your turn cap.
An original puzzle, though the collecting goal will be familiar to anyone who has played Set or any other game about spotting a valid group among many.
The mechanism is not card-like at all. Cards ride concentric rings that rotate at different fixed speeds past a single grab lane, so the layout is not shuffled but orbiting — and the card you want is always arriving, or has just left.
That converts the usual skill into timing. Nothing is hidden and nothing is random; the whole problem is working out how many ticks until the two cards you need are in the lane together, which makes it closer to a clockwork puzzle than to a card game.
Set-Collector's Orbit turns set-and-run card collection into a timing puzzle of rotating orbits and a single grab lane. It is an original free browser game made for PlayPendium.
