Spider in the Dark
Two-suit spider solitaire played in the dark — hidden cards never turn over by themselves, so you weigh the odds and decide when to gamble on what's underneath.
How to play
Build columns downward by suit and remove a full King-to-Ace same-suit run; clear all eight runs to win. Unlike ordinary patience, face-down cards stay dark even when exposed at a column's base — they only reveal when you choose to commit one or spend a limited scry peek.
- Move a revealed same-suit run with a click on its top card, then a click on the destination column.
- Click a dark card to COMMIT it — flipping it sight-unseen, gambling on the odds.
- Spend a Scry to safely peek a hidden top card, and use Deal Row to drop a card on every column when none are empty.
- The Odds panel tracks how many copies of each card are still unseen, so you can compute the chance a hidden card helps.
Controls
- Desktop: click a card or run to select, click a column to move there, click a dark card to commit, and use the toolbar for Scry, Deal Row and Undo.
- Phone & tablet: the same taps work on the touch-friendly card table.
Game modes
- Daily: one shared seeded deal per day to compare against others.
- Practice: deal a fresh random game whenever you like.
Tips & strategy
- Check the unseen-card distribution before committing — when most remaining copies help you, the gamble is worth it.
- Hoard your scry peeks for high-stakes moments where a wrong flip would strand a column.
- Empty a column when you can; any card can move onto an empty space, giving you room to untangle runs.
