Bubbles dangle from the top of the play area. Aim your shot and fire upward; landing three or more of the same colour together pops the whole group and drops anything left unattached. Clear the cluster before it grows down to your line.

• Match three or more same-coloured bubbles to pop them
• Disconnected bubbles fall away after a pop
• Rotate gravity 90° to re-hang the cluster from a new side and open fresh shots

Popline recreates Puzzle Bobble, released by Taito in 1994 and known in the West as Bust-A-Move, which borrowed its two dragons from the same studio's Bubble Bobble.

You fire coloured bubbles up at a hanging cluster and three of a kind pop — but anything left attached to nothing falls too. That single rule turns it from a matching game into a demolition game: the good shot is not the one that matches, it is the one that severs a whole limb of the cluster. The ceiling descends while you think about it.
