Columns of three coloured gems fall in, reorder them on the way down and stack matches in any direction to keep the well from filling.
Each piece is a vertical stack of three gems. Slide it left and right and cycle the order of the three gems, then drop it onto the pile. Line up three or more of a colour horizontally, vertically or diagonally to clear them and prevent the well from overflowing.
Prism Drop draws on Columns, released by Sega in 1990, which reached home players on the Mega Drive and Game Gear as one of the many puzzle games that followed Tetris.
Three jewels fall as a single column and you cannot rotate it — only cycle the order of the three within it, which is a much smaller freedom than it first appears. Matches count in any direction including diagonals, and cleared jewels let the stack above fall into new accidental matches, so chains are common and mostly unplanned. The skill is in building a board where the accidents are likely to go your way.
Prism Drop is an original free browser falling-gem puzzle with three-gem columns and any-direction matching across three difficulty levels. No install required.
