Floor 30 recreates Elevator Action, released by Taito in 1983: a spy descending a thirty-storey building, riding elevators and escalators down, with rival agents stepping out of doorways.
The red doors are the point. Documents are behind them, you must collect every one before reaching the basement, and they are scattered so that the fast way down skips what you came for. The elevator itself is a weapon — you can crush a pursuer by bringing the car down on them — and it is also the thing that traps you, because a car parked on the wrong floor is a wall. Shooting out the lights makes a floor darker for everyone, including you.
