One outline, a handful of guesses, can you name the state before your tries run out?
Was this fun?
How to play
You're shown a single state's outline and must type its name within a fixed number of guesses. Switch to Blind mode to drop the shape entirely and deduce the state from just its capital city.
Shape mode: identify the state from its silhouette
Blind mode: work out the state from its capital alone
Type your answer and submit; each wrong guess uses one try
Solve in as few guesses as possible for a higher score
Game modes
Shape vs Blind for two ways to identify the state
Daily puzzle (same for everyone) or Practice for endless fresh rounds
Controls
Desktop: type a state name and press Enter or click Guess
Phone & tablet: tap the field, type, and tap Guess
Tips & strategy
Learn the tell-tale outlines, panhandles, peninsulas and straight borders narrow it fast
In Blind mode, memorise capitals you mix up; they're the whole game
Don't burn a guess on a hunch when one detail can confirm it
