A devilish twist on noughts and crosses: both players mark X, and completing a line loses you the game.

How to play

Take turns placing an X on any open cell. Unlike normal tic-tac-toe, there are no Os and no winner by line. Whoever is forced to complete a three-in-a-row loses that board, and on a single board that means the game.

• Every mark is an X, shared by both players
• Completing three in a row kills that board
• On multi-board games, play continues on the surviving boards
• Avoid being the one who fills the final line

Controls

• Desktop: click an empty cell to place your X
• Phone & tablet: tap an empty cell

Game modes

• One-board or three-board variants
• Versus CPU on Easy, Medium or Hard
• Two-player hotseat on one device, plus Online play
• Choose who moves first against the computer

Tips & strategy

• Think defensively: every move you make could be the trap that ends you
• On three boards, sacrifice a board deliberately to control the parity
• Force your opponent into positions where any move completes a line
