Candle Colony

One candle is the only light there is — and it's guttering. Keep your people in the warmth before the dark swallows them.

How to play

Candle Colony is a turn-based survival sim built around a single shrinking circle of candlelight. Workers only produce inside the glow; anyone stranded in the cold is dead weight. Each tick the radius contracts, so you constantly juggle gathering wax to feed the flame and pushing the light back out, harvesting food to keep colonists alive, and building to grow. Run out of light or out of food and the colony falls.

• Assign each colonist a task — Wax, Food, Build or Idle — but only those standing in the light actually produce.
• Spend wax to feed the candle and expand its radius; let it collapse below the minimum and darkness wins.
• Watch the food balance — a negative net means your people are starving faster than you can feed them.
• Random events strike: a draft can chill the flame, while a lucky find hands you free wax.

Controls

• Desktop: click a colonist to select them, click a lit tile to move them, choose a task button, then press Advance tick. Use Feed candle to spend wax.
• Phone & tablet: the same taps work on touch — select, move and assign all by tapping; mouse or trackpad is comfortable on desktop.

Game modes

• Daily: a shared seeded colony everyone faces the same day.
• Practice: fresh colonies on demand, with Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty.

Tips & strategy

• Keep at least one worker on wax at all times — letting the radius shrink past your colonists is a death spiral that's hard to reverse.
• Cluster your people near the centre so a sudden draft doesn't strand half the colony in the cold.
• Don't over-invest in building while food runs negative; a fed, lit colony beats a bigger frozen one.
