Backtrack
A real-time stream of position, sound and colour cues plays one step at a time — flag the channel whenever the current cue matches the one N steps back.
How to play
Cues arrive on a fixed beat: a cell lights on a 3×3 grid, a tone plays, and a colour shows. Your job is to flag a channel the moment its current cue repeats the one from N steps earlier. Correct flags disarm wires; clear a round cleanly and N rises on its own, making the memory load deeper. Too many misses and the timer wins.
- Flag Position, Sound and/or Color before the next step arrives
- Hits cut wires; false alarms and misses cost you
- N starts at 1 and adapts up as you succeed
Controls
- Desktop: press A for position, S for sound, D for colour — or click the on-screen flag buttons.
- Phone & tablet: tap the flag buttons; full touch support, audio plays the tones.
Game modes
- Daily: the same seeded stream for everyone
- Practice: fresh streams, with a 2-channel or 3-channel option
Tips & strategy
- Start with 2 channels to build the rhythm before adding colour
- Don't flag on a hunch — a false alarm costs more than holding back
- Keep a quiet running list of the last N cues per channel rather than trying to feel the match
