How to play

Every slide pushes all tiles in one direction. When two tiles of the same number collide they merge into one of double the value, and a new tile appears after each move. Keep merging upward to reach the 2048 tile — then push for an even higher score before the grid fills up.

• Each move slides every tile as far as it can go.
• Two equal tiles that meet merge into their sum.
• The game ends when the board is full with no merges left.

Controls

• Desktop: Arrow keys or WASD to slide the board.
• Phone & tablet: swipe up, down, left or right.

Game modes

• Daily seeded board shared by all players.
• Practice with endless fresh boards.

Tips & strategy

• Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile anchored there; build a descending row toward it.
• Avoid swiping in the direction that disturbs your anchor — work the other three sides.
