Sequence Seer

A short hidden melody plays. Your job is to reproduce it by ear on a pitch grid, placing the notes you think you heard. After each attempt, every note is colour-coded, telling you which pitches are exactly right, which are close, and which are wrong, so you refine your guess over a handful of tries until the tune matches.

The original substitution is the material: a hidden melody, reproduced by ear on a pitch grid, with each note graded exactly right, close, or wrong.

Wordle works because English spelling is a structure you can reason about — a wrong letter in the right place still teaches you something. Pitch has the same property but through a different faculty, so this ends up closer to ear training than to a word game, and "close" means an interval rather than a position.
