Reversi

Trap your opponent's discs between yours to flip them — own the most pieces when the board fills.

How to play

Place a disc so that it brackets one or more of your opponent's discs in a straight line between the new disc and another of yours. Every bracketed disc flips to your color. You must flip at least one disc on each move. When neither player can move, whoever has more discs wins.

• Each legal move must flank and flip at least one enemy disc.
• Flips happen in every direction the move brackets at once.
• The board fills up — final disc count decides the winner.

Controls

• Desktop: click a highlighted square to place your disc.
• Phone & tablet: tap a highlighted square.

Game modes

• Versus the computer with three strengths (alpha-beta AI).
• Two-player hot-seat on one device.
• Online play against another person.

Tips & strategy

• Grab the corners — they can never be flipped and anchor whole edges.
• Early on, fewer discs can be better; don't grab every flip and surrender mobility.
