Overheat
Slide and merge to grow your tiles — but every merge stokes the heat, and a twice-burned tile is a ticking bomb.
How to play
Overheat is a sliding number-merge puzzle with a heat economy bolted on. Slide the whole board so equal tiles combine into a bigger number, exactly like the classic powers-of-two puzzle. But each merge raises a tile's heat, and once a tile has merged twice it ignites with a short fuse. Merge an ignited tile again to vent the heat; let the fuse run out and the cell burns to permanent slag, shrinking your usable board.
- Slide left, right, up, or down to push every tile; equal numbers merge into their sum.
- Each merge adds heat; a tile heated twice ignites and shows a counting-down fuse.
- Merging an ignited tile vents it safely before the fuse expires.
- If a fuse hits zero the cell turns to slag and is blocked for the rest of the run.
Controls
- Desktop: arrow keys or WASD to slide the board in any direction.
- Phone & tablet: swipe in any direction on the board to slide the tiles.
Game modes
- Daily: a shared seeded board everyone plays the same day.
- Practice: an endless supply of fresh random boards.
Tips & strategy
- Vent ignited tiles fast — one slag cell is survivable, but a clump of them strangles the board.
- Keep your biggest tile pinned in a corner so casual merges don't accidentally over-heat it.
- Plan two slides ahead: line up an ignited tile next to its twin so the next move can vent it.
