Nim

A classic mathematical duel: take as many tokens as you like from a single row, but only one player can be left holding the last one.

How to play

Several rows hold a handful of tokens. Players alternate turns, and on each turn you remove any number of tokens — but all from a single row. The convention you pick decides who wins.

• Normal play: the player who takes the very last token WINS.
• Misere play: the player forced to take the last token LOSES.
• Click a token to clear it and every token to its right in that same row.
• You must remove at least one token, and you can never take from two rows at once.

Controls

• Desktop: click any token to take it plus everything to its right in that row.
• Phone & tablet: tap a token to make the same move — no keyboard needed.

Game modes

• Solo vs CPU at Easy, Medium or Hard, choosing whether you or the AI moves first.
• 2-player pass-and-play on one device (a live nim-sum readout is shown).
• Online play: host an invite, join with a code, or quick-match a stranger.

Tips & strategy

• Track the nim-sum: XOR the row sizes together and aim to hand your opponent a position that sums to zero.
• Misere only diverges from normal play in the endgame — when rows of two-or-more run out, flip your last-token plan.
