Knoword Duel

A definition appears with the first letter showing — type the word before your rival fills the track.

How to play

You are shown a definition and the word's first letter. Type the matching word before the timer expires. Each correct answer advances your meter while a rival races on the opposite track, so speed and vocabulary both decide the duel. Skip a clue if you are stumped and the next one appears.

• Read the definition and type the word it describes.
• The first letter is given as a head start.
• Correct answers push your track ahead of the rival's.
• Beat the clock and out-pace your opponent to win.

Controls

• Desktop: type the word and submit with Enter; use the Skip button to pass.
• Phone & tablet: type with the on-screen keyboard and tap Skip when needed.

Game modes

• Daily seeded duel or endless Practice, at Easy, Medium or Hard.

Tips & strategy

• Let the first letter and word length steer your guess toward the right answer.
• Skip clues you do not know instantly rather than burning seconds on them.
• Build a streak — momentum on your track is what keeps you ahead of the rival.
