Gradient
Rank a row of synonyms from weakest to strongest, using the clues to pin down the only valid order.
How to play
You are given a scrambled set of synonyms and a handful of comparison clues such as one word being stronger than another. Arrange the words along the intensity line so the order satisfies every clue, then check it. There is exactly one correct ranking to deduce.
- Read the clues to work out the true weak-to-strong order.
- Reorder the words until the line is correct.
- Check your arrangement to score it.
- Fewer reorder moves and faster solves score higher.
Controls
- Desktop: drag a word to a new spot, or use the up and down buttons to nudge it; click Check.
- Phone & tablet: drag words to reorder them, or use the up and down buttons, then tap Check.
Game modes
- Daily seeded puzzle or endless Practice, at Easy, Medium or Hard.
Tips & strategy
- Anchor the clearest extreme first — the obviously weakest or strongest word.
- Chain the stronger-than clues into a sequence before touching the list.
- Reset and rebuild rather than nudging endlessly if your order tangles.
