Fifteen

Slide the numbered tiles into order using the one empty space — in as few moves as possible.

How to play

The grid is scrambled with one square missing. Tiles next to the gap can slide into it. Keep sliding to arrange every tile in numerical order, ending with the blank in the corner. Choose your grid size, from the 3x3 eight-tile board up to the larger 24-tile board.

• Only tiles adjacent to the empty space can move.
• Arrange the numbers in sequence to solve the puzzle.
• Aim for the lowest move count.

Controls

• Desktop: Arrow keys to slide, or click a tile next to the gap.
• Phone & tablet: tap a tile beside the empty space to slide it.

Game modes

• Daily seeded scramble shared by everyone.
• Practice with fresh shuffles and selectable sizes.

Tips & strategy

• Solve the top row and left column first, then treat the rest as a smaller puzzle.
• Set the last two tiles of a row together using the corner rotation trick.
