Kakurasu

Each cell is worth its row weight and its column weight — fill the right ones so every line's totals hit their targets exactly.

How to play

Kakurasu is a weighted-sum logic puzzle. The numbers along the top label each column 1, 2, 3… and the numbers down the left label each row the same way. A filled cell contributes its column number to that column's total and its row number to that row's total.

Every row has a target clue on the right and every column a target clue along the bottom. Choose which cells to fill so that each row's filled column-weights add up to its clue, and each column's filled row-weights add up to its clue. There's a single unique solution.

• A filled cell adds its column weight to the row sum and its row weight to the column sum.
• Match every row's right-hand clue and every column's bottom clue at once.
• A clue turns green when its sum is exactly right and red when it overshoots.
• Solve all rows and columns to win — the puzzle has one unique answer.

Controls

• Desktop: click a cell to cycle empty → filled → ✕ (known-empty) → empty; right-click toggles the ✕ mark directly.
• Phone & tablet: tap a cell to cycle through the same states — fully touch-driven, no keyboard needed.

Game modes

• Three sizes — 5×5, 6×6, and 7×7 — for an easy start up to a tougher solve.
• Daily — the same seeded puzzle for everyone each day.
• Practice — fresh random puzzles on demand.

Tips & strategy

• Start with the extremes: a clue of 0 means the whole line is empty, and a clue equal to the line's maximum means every cell is filled.
• Big weights are decisive — the highest-numbered column or row often must (or must not) be filled to reach a target.
• Find the unique combination of weights that sums to each clue, then cross-check it against the crossing line.
• Mark cells you've ruled out so you only revisit genuine unknowns.
