How to play
Each lead gives you clues about where and when the trail leads. The twist: a city may have belonged to a different empire in the target year than it does today, so you must read the empire clue against the year you pick. Catch the culprit by choosing the right city and the right year across every lead.
Read the case-file clues for the current lead
Pick the city you think the trail points to
Pick the year, the ruling empire depends on it
Commit your guess; nail both city and year to catch the culprit
Controls
Desktop: click a city and a year, then click Track the Culprit
Phone & tablet: tap a city, tap a year, then tap to commit
Tips & strategy
If a clue names an empire, find the city-and-year combination where that empire actually ruled
Right city but wrong year still loses the trail, treat the date as half the answer
Easy, Medium and Hard widen the map and the span of years you must consider
