Watershed

Keep a river in balance turn by turn, knowing that every intervention you make schedules a delayed downstream cost you'll have to weather later.

How to play

Each turn you choose one action for the river. The immediate effect helps, but it queues a lagged side-effect — silting, churn, or a population crash — so you have to plan for the long haul, not the next turn.

• Observe to do nothing, or intervene: build a dam, clean up pollution, or restock fish.
• Each intervention gives a benefit now and a delayed cost later, shown in the pending-effects pipe.
• Read the water, pollution, fish, and plant bars to judge the ecosystem's health.
• Survive the full run with the highest resilience score; intervening recklessly tanks it.

Controls

• Desktop: click the action buttons and the Daily/Practice and New Run buttons.
• Phone & tablet: tap the actions — fully touch-enabled.

Game modes

• Daily (shared seed) and Practice (random).

Tips & strategy

• Watch the pending-effects pipe; don't stack interventions whose lagged costs all land on the same turn.
• Sometimes Observe is the strongest move — letting the system settle beats triggering another delayed shock.
