Volt
Wire the circuit so just enough current lights the bulb — without burning out a wire that carries too many amps.
How to play
You drop resistors into stages of a circuit. Resistors in the same stage run in parallel (lower resistance, more current); stages chain in series (resistance adds). Arrange them so the current lands inside the target band and the bulb lights — but if a wire carries more amps than its rating, it burns out and the build fails.
- Parallel resistors lower resistance; series stages add resistance
- Match the target current band to light the bulb
- Overloaded wires burn out, so balance the current path
Controls
- Desktop: click a resistor in the tray, then click a stage slot to drop it in; Clear and New reset
- Phone & tablet: tap a resistor then tap a slot — fully touch-friendly
Game modes
- Difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard
- Daily shared circuit or endless Practice
Tips & strategy
- Use Ohm's law: more parallel resistors raise current, more series stages cut it
- Watch each wire's amp rating, not just the bulb's target
- Build up gradually and check the live current readout after each placement
What you'll learn
Volt is an electronics puzzle about series and parallel circuits and current limits, building practical circuit reasoning.
- Skills: electric circuits, series and parallel, current and voltage, Ohm's law
- Best for: roughly grades 7–12 (ages 12+)
- For parents & teachers: circuit reasoning learned by building and testing.
