Cell Sprawl
Add organelles to grow, but every one burns energy — keep the ATP flowing or starve.
How to play
Build out a cell by adding organelles, each modelled on the real thing. Organelles both produce and consume ATP, so reckless growth drains your energy and the cell starves. Balance the books and keep it alive for three minutes.
- Add organelles to expand the cell's capabilities
- Each organelle changes your ATP income and upkeep
- Keep energy positive — over-expansion leads to starvation
- Survive the full three minutes to win the run
Game modes
- Daily run — the same starting cell for everyone today
- Practice — fresh runs to experiment
Controls
- Desktop: click and drag to build and place organelles
- Phone & tablet: tap and drag to add organelles
Tips & strategy
- Establish energy producers before piling on energy-hungry organelles
- Grow in small steps and watch the ATP balance settle before expanding again
- If energy dips, pause expansion and let production catch up
What you'll learn
Cell Sprawl is a biology survival game about organelles and ATP, where keeping a cell's energy balance alive teaches how cells run.
- Skills: cell biology, organelles, ATP and cellular energy, homeostasis
- Best for: roughly grades 7–12 (ages 12+)
- For parents & teachers: turns cell energetics into a survival challenge.
