Unwound
Aim a ray on the grid to build the target angle, and watch the unit circle read back its exact sine and cosine in real time.
How to play
Each puzzle names a target trig value, like the angle whose sine equals a given radical. Drag to aim a ray on the construction grid; it snaps to the special angles. A live unit circle shows the exact sine and cosine of your current angle. Land on the angle that produces the target value to solve it.
- Aim the ray and let it snap to special angles (0, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 135, 150, 180)
- Read the exact sine and cosine on the unit circle readout
- Match the angle whose exact value equals the stated target
- Solve faster and in fewer attempts for a higher score
Game modes
- Daily: a fixed puzzle shared each day
- Practice: fresh randomized puzzles
Controls
- Desktop: drag on the grid to aim, or use the Left and Right arrow keys to step between special angles
- Phone & tablet: drag on the grid to swing the ray to a special angle
Tips & strategy
- Memorize the half, root-two-over-two, and root-three-over-two values — most targets map straight to a special angle
- Use the cosine and sine legs on the unit circle to confirm which quadrant your target sits in before committing
What you'll learn
Unwound connects angle construction to the unit circle, making trigonometry tangible.
- Skills: the unit circle, angles, trigonometry
- Best for: roughly grades 10–12 (ages 15+)
- For parents & teachers: angles and the unit circle.
