Forecast the outcome of a breeding cross on the Punnett square, then drop down to the codon level and rewrite the gene to produce the trait you want.
How to play
Each round pairs two layers of genetics. First you predict the ratios of a Mendelian cross by filling in counts for each genotype or phenotype. Then you work at the molecular level, editing the DNA codons of a gene until its translated trait matches the target.
- Read the parent genotypes and enter your predicted counts for the Punnett-square outcomes.
- Lock in your Mendelian answer to check it against the true ratios.
- Edit the live codons of the gene, base by base, to change which trait it encodes.
- Hit the target trait to complete the molecular half of the round.

Tips & strategy
- For a standard two-allele cross, the classic 1:2:1 genotype and 3:1 phenotype ratios are your starting point.
- When editing codons, remember several codons can map to the same amino acid — a silent change won't alter the trait.
- A single base swap can be missense, silent or nonsense; check what the new codon translates to before committing.
