How to play
Your token sits on a number track shown on a logarithmic scale. Multiply or divide by the primes 2, 3, 5 and 7 to change its value, aiming to land precisely on the target number. You can only divide by a prime that currently divides your position; capture rival markers by sharing a prime factor with them.
Press a prime button to multiply or divide your current value
Division is only legal when the prime actually divides your position
Land exactly on the target's prime factorization to win
Capture rivals en route and finish under par on moves for a higher score
Game modes
Difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard
Daily: a fixed level shared each day
Practice: fresh randomized levels
Controls
Desktop: click the multiply and divide buttons for each prime; Undo and Hint are available
Phone & tablet: tap the prime operation buttons (mouse or touch only)
Tips & strategy
Compare your factorization to the target's and add or remove exactly the primes that differ
Route through rivals that share a factor to capture them without wasting moves off the shortest path
What you'll learn
Factorscape is built on prime factorization, turning the building blocks of numbers into a landscape to navigate.
Skills: prime factorization, number theory, factors and multiples
Best for: roughly grades 6–11 (ages 11–16)
For parents & teachers: prime factorization as building blocks.
