Silt River
Carve, berm and channel the land to guide a river that constantly rewrites its own course.
How to play
A flow-simulation puzzle on an elevation grid. The river carves where it runs fast and drops silt where it slows, so it reshapes its own banks every tick and the path keeps shifting. Reshape the terrain on a budget, then let the water flow and wet every goal before your edits or ticks run out.
- Choose a tool — Channel (lower), Dig (lower more) or Berm (raise) — and click a cell to sculpt it; each edit spends budget.
- Press Step to flow the river one tick, or Auto to let it run continuously.
- Carved cells sink and darken; silted cells rise and brighten — so the channel evolves as it runs.
- Wet every goal ring before the budget or tick limit is exhausted to win.
Controls
- Desktop: click the active tool, then click a cell to reshape it; use Step and Auto to advance the flow.
- Phone & tablet: tap cells to sculpt and tap the controls — the board is fully pointer-driven.
Tips & strategy
- Carve a continuously descending corridor that links the goals so a single river can chain through them.
- Edit early — once silt builds up it can dam your channel and the cost to redirect rises.
- Bigger boards (11×11, 14×14) hand you more budget and ticks, so plan a longer route rather than rushing.
About Silt River
Silt River is an original terrain-routing simulation built around self-modifying flow: the water erodes and deposits, so the landscape you shape is never quite the one the river leaves behind. It's a free browser game on PlayPendium with daily and practice modes across three board sizes.
