Pheromone Painter

You can't order a single ant — you only paint the scent, and the colony decides whether to follow.

How to play

Paint a pheromone field across the grid. Each tick the ants climb that field — toward food when foraging, back toward the nest when carrying — and lay a little scent of their own as they walk, while the whole field slowly evaporates. Every load of food carried home counts toward your score. Reach the goal before the timer expires.

• Paint trails to guide foragers from the nest to food sources.
• Erase scent to peel ants off bad routes or redirect the flow.
• Trails fade over time, so reinforce the paths that are working.

Controls

• Desktop: drag with the mouse to paint scent; use erase to clear it.
• Phone & tablet: drag a finger to paint and erase trails.

Game modes

• Daily seeded layout shared by everyone.
• Practice across difficulty settings.

Tips & strategy

• Paint short, direct corridors — long detours waste ticks and evaporate before payoff.
• Let successful trails self-reinforce instead of constantly repainting; intervene only when the flow stalls.
