Flashword

A passage flashes one word at a time on a fixed center point, and you only earn a faster reading speed if you can prove you understood it.

How to play

Each round flashes a short passage word by word using rapid serial visual presentation, then asks one comprehension question. Pass it and your reading speed climbs; miss it and you slow down.

• Watch the single flashing word and keep your eyes still on the center
• Answer the multiple-choice question about what you just read
• A correct answer raises your words-per-minute ceiling; a wrong one lowers the pace
• Three failed checks end the run — your highest speed is your score

Game modes

• Daily: one shared passage sequence per day
• Practice: unlimited fresh runs to push your ceiling

Controls

• Desktop: click Start Reading and click an answer option; an optional Skip to quiz button is available
• Phone & tablet: tap to start and tap your answer choice

Tips & strategy

• Keep your gaze fixed on the spot where words appear instead of chasing them — that is what trains faster reading
