Klondike's tougher cousin: every card is dealt at the start, and any face-up card can be moved, taking everything on top of it along.
Yukon uses one 52-card deck and has no stock. The cards are dealt into seven columns of 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 cards. The top five cards of each column are face up; the first column is a single face-up card.
Build the four foundations up in suit, from Ace to King. In the columns, build down in alternating colours: a red 8 on a black 9, and so on.
What makes Yukon different is how cards move. You can move any face-up card, together with all the cards on top of it, whether or not those cards are in order. Only the card you move and the card it lands on have to fit. Only a King, with anything on top of it, can move into an empty column. When you move the last face-up card off a face-down one, it turns over.
Yukon is a close relative of Klondike: it uses the same single deck and the same alternating-colour building, but it has no stock, and the tableau moves quite differently.
Its own history isn't well documented, and we haven't found a reliable source for who devised it or when. Its name pairs it with Klondike, whose own name is usually linked to the Klondike gold rush in Canada's Yukon Territory, though the origin of Klondike's name is itself unknown. Treat that connection as a naming family, not a documented history.
