How to play

A target country is hidden. Type the name of any country and the game tells you how close it is — guesses glow hotter the nearer they sit to the secret one. Triangulate from the warmth until you pinpoint it.

• Type a country to test how close it is
• Read the warmth feedback to gauge distance
• Use each clue to triangulate toward the target
• Name the hidden country in as few guesses as possible

Controls

• Desktop: type a country name and submit (keyboard recommended)
• Phone & tablet: tap the field and use the on-screen keyboard

• Daily: a single shared seeded target ranked globally
• Practice: a new hidden country each round

Tips & strategy

• Open with countries on different continents to map the warmth across the globe
• When a guess runs hot, try its neighbors to close in on the exact one
• Note direction as well as heat — two warm guesses bracket the target between them
