You're given a start country and a destination. Move between countries that physically share a border, building a chain across the map. Reach the goal, ideally in the fewest hops possible.

Moving only between countries that physically share a border turns the political map into a graph, with countries as nodes and frontiers as edges.

Asking for the fewest hops is the original constraint.

That makes it a shortest-path problem over a graph whose shape carries real history. Chokepoints matter enormously — a handful of countries connect entire regions, and islands connect to nothing at all, which is why some pairs are unreachable no matter how well you know the map.
