Precedence

Each puzzle is an arithmetic expression you reduce step by step. Choose the operation with the highest precedence available right now, multiply and divide before add and subtract, ties resolve left to right, and innermost parentheses come first. A wrong choice still combines two numbers, but it steers you onto a false trail whose final value won't match the intended answer. Reduce a round of puzzles correctly to finish.

• Apply one operation per step, always the highest-precedence one available.
• Ties go left to right; resolve the innermost parentheses first.
• Wrong picks reduce too, but lead to an answer that can't be reached correctly.
• Each round is a set of expressions to collapse cleanly.

• Daily (seeded): the same round for everyone, with an automatic difficulty.
• Practice (random): choose Easy, Medium, or Hard and reshuffle freely.

• Desktop: click the operator you want to apply next in the expression.
• Phone & tablet: tap the operator to collapse that step of the expression.

• Scan for parentheses and exponents before touching any add or subtract.
• When several × and ÷ sit side by side, work strictly left to right.
• If your running value looks wrong, you likely took an out-of-order step earlier, restart the trail.
