Clay spins on the wheel. Drag along its profile to pull the walls up and out, shaping a vessel from base to rim. When you're happy, press Fire, the kiln picks a glaze you can't fully predict, and your pot joins the shelf.
Kilnwork is original, but the craft is not. It follows the potter's wheel closely enough to inherit its central discipline: a vessel is drawn upward from a spinning base, and the shape is made by pressure against a moving wall.
The second half borrows something riskier. Real ceramic glaze is unpredictable — colour and surface depend on chemistry and heat in ways a potter can influence but not dictate — and the kiln here keeps that uncertainty rather than letting you choose the finish.
That is the design decision worth noticing. Handing the last step to chance means the object you open the kiln on is never quite the one you shaped, which is the part of pottery that makes people keep doing it, and the part a game could most easily have removed.
