Assemble each citation by ordering its fields the way the style demands, then judge whether a student's paraphrase crosses the line into plagiarism.

How to play

Every round has two parts. First you arrange a source's fields (author, title, container, publisher, year, pages) into the order a named citation style requires, watching a live preview. Then you classify sample paraphrases as fair use, patchwork, or theft.

• Reorder the field tokens until the citation matches the style's rules
• Check your order and move on once every field is in place
• Read each source-and-paraphrase pair and pick fair use, patchwork or theft
• A hint snaps one field into place but costs you points

Game modes

• Daily: a fixed case shared by everyone each day
• Practice: fresh randomized rounds

Controls

• Desktop: drag field tokens between slots, or click a token to swap it rightward; click choices to judge a lift
• Phone & tablet: tap a token to swap it into the next slot and tap a verdict button

Tips & strategy

• Read the style's rule line carefully — author and title placement is what most styles differ on
• For paraphrases, watch for kept sentence structure with swapped synonyms: that pattern is patchwork, not fair use
