Confidence Cards
Before every flashcard you rate how sure you are, and overclaiming on a card you get wrong costs you double.
How to play
For each term, first stake your confidence from 1 to 5, then reveal the answer and judge yourself honestly. The scoring rewards being right when sure and punishes confident misses, building real self-calibration.
- Rate your certainty from 1 (Guess) to 5 (Certain)
- The answer is revealed — mark whether you Got it or Missed it
- A confident wrong answer is penalized double a neutral one; under-confidence wastes cards you knew
- A Brier calibration score tracks how honest your confidence really was
Game modes
- Daily: a seed-locked deck shared by everyone each day
- Practice: pick any subject deck and play fresh rounds
Controls
- Desktop: press 1-5 to rate confidence, then Y for got it or N for missed it (buttons also work)
- Phone & tablet: tap a confidence button, then tap Got it or Missed it
Tips & strategy
- Reserve a 5 only for answers you would bet on — one confident miss can erase several careful wins
- Watch your Brier score: aim to be right about as often as the confidence you claim, not just to score high
